Things aren’t looking so bad for Florida State and head coach Mike Norvell right now. On Sunday, his team beat LSU and five days later he took a helicopter to check out one of the top 25 recruits in the country.
A player who just so happens to be committed to Florida State.
Colquitt County (Moultrie, Ga.) tight end Landen Thomas, a five-star tight end according to 247Sports, was the center of the impressive visit from Norvell. The Florida State head coach certainly arrived by helicopter in style, a move that is as much about ease and practicality as it is about simply making a splash.
Social media has been buzzing about Norvell’s arrival in the chopper, and that’s exactly the type of recruiting reserve a head coach needs to keep a blue-chip candidate like Thomas committed.
