Patrick Kane quickly scored his first goal with the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night – his second game with his new team.

And guess who helped? His former Blackhawks linemate, Alex DeBrincat, of course.

Kane, 35, completed his long-awaited free agency decision, Signed with the Red Wings on November 28th. He signed a one-year prorated contract worth $2.75 million.

Kane underwent hip surgery on June 1 and was scheduled every four to six months. He was expected to decide the American Thanksgiving, and that’s exactly what he did.

He will return to the United Center on February 25th when the Blackhawks face the Red Wings. The Blackhawks will also retire Chris Chelios’ jersey this evening.
