North American distribution rights to Mena Suvari-starring zombie horror-comedy film “All You Need Is Blood,” have been picked up by Level 33 Entertainment.
The company is planning to launch the film on the KINO Studio app on Oct. 12. Following the KINO premiere, the film will be available across all customary VOD outlets.
The film had its world premiere at last year’s Sitges Film Festival and has been a hit on the genre festival circuit ever since, including winning the Fangoria Award at Make Believe Seattle.
“All You Need Is Blood” is the debut feature of writer/director Bucky Le Boeuf. The story involves Bucky, a 16-year-old aspiring director who dreams of becoming the next arthouse auteur sensation. After a strange meteor crash lands in his backyard and turns his deadbeat father into a brain-eating zombie, Bucky and his friends seize the opportunity to create the ultimate horror flick, starring his undead dad. They’ll soon realize that making a movie with real zombies is harder than they thought, especially when Bucky can’t tolerate the sight of blood.
Suvari (“American Pie”) portrays a diva actress, while Logan Riley Bruner (“Stranger Things”) stars as Bucky and Eddie Griffin appears as a God-fearing detective.
Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman and Jesse Korman of Yale Entertainment produced “All You Need Is Blood” alongside Post Films’ Russ Posternak, with whom they previously produced the indie box office hit “Becky” and its sequel “The Wrath of Becky.” Executive producers include Clay Pecorin, Russell Geyser, Brian S. Unger, Eric Broughton, Roz Rothstein, Michael J. Rothstein, Nicholas Donnermeyer, Will Hirschfeld, Jason Kringstein, Scott Levenson, Jeffrey Tussi and David Nazar.
“We are truly stoked to share this hilarious, clever ‘Zom-Com’ with audiences across the U.S. and Canada,” said Level 33 Entertainment president & CEO Andreas Olavarria. “We can’t think of a better marriage between a talented team of filmmakers and an awesome new platform built for an interactive feature film debut.”
