ChargeSini and Charge+ sign EV charging roaming agreement

Malaysia’s ChargeSini and Singapore’s Charge+ have jointly signed a strategic EV roaming agreement which enables a seamless cross-border charging experience. The EV roaming agreement soon allow ChargeSini and Charge+ app users to access more EV chargers across the Southeast Asian region without the need to install additional apps.

The EV roaming agreement between ChargeSini and Charge+ was signed in Singapore by Charge+ CEO Goh Chee Kiong and ChargeSini’s founder and CEO James Goh.

Charge+ and ChargeSini sign strategic EV Roaming Partnership

ChargeSini which predominantly deploys EV chargers at high-rise residential locations and retail chains currently have over 700 operational charging bays across 224 hubs in West and East Malaysia. This consists of 122 DC charging points and 579 AC charge points nationwide.

Meanwhile, Charge+ has over 2,000 EV charge points in Singapore and across the region. Charge+ aims to deploy 30,000 EV charge points in Southeast Asia by 2030. The roaming agreement with ChargeSini is in line with Charge+’s implementation of an EV charging highway that spans 5,000km across five Southeast Asian countries namely Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Besides ChargeSini, Charge+ has also signed EV roaming partnerships with Thailand’s Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Malaysia’s Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Indonesia’s Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).

Commenting on the partnership, Charge+ CEO Goh Chee Kiong said, “This roaming collaboration aligns with our mission to catalyse the proliferation of electric mobility in Southeast Asia. The extension of our charging network through roaming will dispel the misperception that EVs are not suitable for long-distance, cross-border travel. We believe in creating a seamless access to more charging points, thereby contributing to the growth in the adoption of electric vehicles in the region.”

Meanwhile, ChargeSini’s CEO James Goh said, “I am both proud and ecstatic that Charge+ has chosen to partner with ChargeSini. Together, we can now connect more EV owners and users together through both our networks, thus allowing them to undertake stress-free cross-border travels with their EVs. Moreover, I am elated that users from both sides can now easily access any of our chargers through our existing apps too,”
