He’s still not ready to make his Trojans debut, but Bronny James was able to warm up with his teammates for the first time Sunday afternoon – marking another milestone in his return after suffering cardiac arrest earlier this summer.
Bronny, the son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, was at No. 16 USC warming up normally before their 81-70 victory over Brown on Sunday at the Galen Center.

“It was great. He completed warm-up exercises with the team. He is a big part of our program and our team. He’s a great teammate,” USC coach Andy Enfield said. via The Associated Press. “We look forward to hopefully getting him back on the pitch one day, but when that happens, it’s not my decision. We will be patient and go through the process.”

Bronny was a Rivals.com four-star recruit fresh out of high school, and he received offers from Oregon, Ohio State, Memphis and others. He has been with the team during his recovery and has also trained with them privately, but Sunday was his first time warming up before a game with the team.
USC edged Boogie Ellis by 28 points in another close Trojans home game against Brown on Sunday night. Freshman Isaiah Collier also added 24 points in the win, and Kobe Johnson added 14 points. USC shot 12 of 24 from the 3-point line, half of which belonged to Ellis. The win followed a narrow 10-point loss to UC Irvine on Tuesday night.
The Trojans will face Seton Hall on Thanksgiving Day in the Rady’s Children’s Invitational tournament in San Diego, where either Iowa or Oklahoma will await them on Friday.
